Malika means queen, and this is the most regal piece in the collection. Cut from the same pashmina blend, she is woven in a rich plum ground with sweeping antique-blue and rose paisley running through her like an old tapestry. The colour story is warm without being heavy, ornate without being loud. The abaya equivalent of a heritage piece passed mother to daughter.

The fabric drapes long and full through the body, and the open kimono sleeves give her that effortless, take-her-anywhere ease. Hand-tied fringing finishes the hem and cuffs in the artisan tradition the rest of the edit shares.

Wear her open over an ivory slip for soft contrast, or cinched with a thin belt for a more sculpted line. She arrives with her matching pashmina scarf, generous in size and styled however the day asks for.

Product Care

Washing

• Dry cleaning is the easiest way to keep her looking her best.
• If washing at home, hand-wash in cool water with a gentle detergent made for wool or pashmina.
• Deep tones may release a little colour on the first wash, so wash alone the first time.
• Wash the abaya and scarf separately so the fringe stays neat.
• Skip the machine, the bleach, and the wringing. Press the water out gently by rolling her in a clean towel.

Drying

• Lay flat on a clean towel, away from direct sun.
• Smooth her into shape while she's still damp.
• Skip the tumble dryer.

Ironing

• Use a cool setting (the silk or wool mark on your iron).
• Steam from a small distance is the gentlest option.
• If you're pressing directly, place a thin cotton cloth over the fabric first.

Storage

• Fold and tuck her into a breathable cotton bag or drawer between wears.
• A small lavender sachet keeps her smelling beautiful and fresh between seasons.
